This project was inspired by the beautiful, simplistic and expressive tones of the acoustic guitar.  My passion for the instrument began at 5 years of age where I was inspired and learnt from my father (guitarist) and grandfather (mandolinist), where together many a night a week we would gather in grandpa and grandma’s homestead in Erie, Pennsylvania (USA) to play the classic Italian and American-Italian pop songs as instrumentals. 
 
Many of my aunts and uncles were also great fans of country music which helped influence me and to appreciate artists such as Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams, George Jones and as from the late 70’s Emmylou Harris – and most importantly the guitar virtuosos Chet Atkins and my guitar hero Tony Mottola, both instrumental artists with a magic touch.
 
This album is a tribute to all my family and the recording artists who helped me better understand the emotions of music. I hope that the simplicity and natural organic ‘grassroots feel’ of this album will serve a useful musical palette for all my sub-publishers and their clients.
 
On this album, I played my fathers 1937 Gibson f-hole L-12 archtop acoustic guitar with a classic 40’s DeArmond floating pick-up.  I also played another Gibson f-hole L-12 archtop built in 1942, and my grandpa Antonio DiFilippo’s late 40s Gibson A-50 mandolin. DiFilippo is my heritage family name, but was changed in 1901 when my grandpa immigrated to the USA from Italy arriving at Ellis Island, New York. He was only 7 at the time and had no choice in the name change.
 
On this album, I also played my 1960s Gibson Country & Western acoustic guitar, a classical nylon Ramirez acoustic, a 1977 Guild D-50NT acoustic, a 1933 dobro resonator acoustic guitar, my grandpa Perrier’s 1910 ‘The Gibson’ round hole acoustic guitar, use of both metal and glass slides, and ukuleles – concert and tenor sizes.

Leon Gaer, electric bassist, is playing a Bassline Worp Acoustic Fretless Bass – Made In Germany and a Miruzzi Custom 5- String Bass Fretted – Made in Australia.

The album consists of 12 mains, alternative mains, underscores, alternative underscores, :30 main, alternative :30, :30 underscore, alternative :30 underscore and a short sting of each track title.
 
On the main track title versions, I included strings and ethereal pads to lift the country folk element to a docudrama / filmatic dimension, where the alternative versions are the 100% organic instrumentation, deleting the strings and ethereal pads.
 
I thank my father and my family for their inspiration, love and passion of music.
