This project release is a new format for 101 Music Pty Ltd®, where there are many additional track versions of each title allowing for more client appeal and additional use opportunities.  This format provides numerous options for storytelling by expanding the textures and emotions of the music with alternative mix-outs.

I have split the album into 2 parts, Vo1 and Vol 2, so that there are no more than 99 tracks per release, consisting of 6 titles per album with numerous alternative versions.  I’ve also chosen to keep each title completely grouped together rather than numbering all the mains in successive order – this way, all the mix-out versions are easily accessible for your clients, and all sitting under one umbrella under the composition title.

The project’s direction can best be described as dramatic, atmospheric, psychedelic, underground, rock, pop, jazz, fusion – being: mysterious, atmospheric, mystifying, disturbed.  Ominous, dramatic and otherworldly underground music to inspire thought-provoking, surreal mind games of imagination and unexplained events – featuring intoxicating rhythms, colorful sound design and unique layers of sonic textures.

The project is inspired by stories such as the dark and thought-provoking television series: Ozarks, True Detective, Breaking Bad and the like.  The music lends itself to the unknown and murky criminal search style scripts, being mysterious, toxic, troubling, concealing, hidden, lurking and foreboding – using crossover electro-acoustic textures and sounds.

In this album series, there are 5 titles that feature haunting and earthy male vocals, in song lyric form, to value add to the thematic possibilities for main and end title syncs, etc.  On these titles, there is also an instrumental main version without the vocal to cover all bases for producers and editors.

These five songs are co-written between myself and Bev Klingsick, a brilliant lyricist from the USA.  Bev is also commissioned by 101 Music Pty Ltd® to help with the creative metadata on every production.

Gareth James Hudson is the male vocalist on the titles ‘Twilight Zone’ and ‘Dark Dark Secrets’ from Vol 1, and ‘Spellbound’ and ‘Karma’ from Vol 2.  I am the vocalist on ‘Six Feet Under’ from Vol 1, and also on ‘D.O.A.’ from Vol 2 – where I had to drink a bottle and a half of Kentucky Bourbon and smoke about 5 Cuban cigars to achieve such a performance.
